Hope Hecht is a PhD student in Romance Languages and Literatures at Washington University in St. Louis. Hope obtained her BA in Modern Languages and Cultures from Northern Arizona University in 2022. Afterwards, Hope went on to complete her MA in French Language and Literature at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2024. 

 

Hope's research focuses on saints, monks, and holy men within medieval French literature (1100 to 1300). She is interested in how ecclesiastical figures are portrayed in their respective countries and depictions of canon law within these texts.

 

Hope's book reviews appear in the Society and Culture section in The French Review.

 

When Hope is not on the Danforth campus, she is rock climbing, sewing, or volunteering for local organizations.
